My Philosophy of Medicine
How I believe medicine should be practised.
“Healing is not merely the science of treating disease; it is the privilege of caring for a human life with knowledge, compassion, and unwavering integrity.
— Dr. Sachin Swargiary
“Medicine is more than diagnosing and treating diseases—it is about understanding the person behind every illness. Every patient deserves to be heard with empathy, examined with diligence, diagnosed through sound clinical reasoning and treated through evidence-based medicine.
— Dr. Sachin Swargiary
“When a patient places their health in a doctor’s hands, they offer something far greater than a clinical problem—they offer their trust. Honouring that trust means being honest in uncertainty, thoughtful in every decision, humble before the limits of medicine, and always committed to doing what is genuinely best for the patient.
— Dr. Sachin Swargiary
“Good medicine is not measured by the number of tests ordered or medicines prescribed. Sometimes the wisest decision is to investigate less, prescribe less, reassure more, and allow the body time to heal. Clinical wisdom lies in knowing not only what can be done, but what truly needs to be done.
— Dr. Sachin Swargiary
“Medicine may demand long hours, sacrifice and extraordinary commitment, but a doctor remains a human being beyond the white coat. A meaningful career should leave room for health, family, relationships, reflection and the simple moments of life—for caring for others should never require forgetting how to live your own.
— Dr. Sachin Swargiary
