The Asthma That Stopped Wheezing
The presentation
A severe asthmatic suddenly became quieter. The room felt relieved; the patient was not.
The first explanation was plausible, but the pattern did not fully fit. A deliberate second look focused on physiology, medication/exposure history, serial observations and the clue that the initial diagnosis could not explain.

A silent chest, exhaustion and rising CO₂ signalled failing ventilation.
